When the pandemic hit, the whole restaurant world was flipped on its head. Many chefs, servers and bartenders were on their own and forced to re-think what it means to feed people.
This was the case with pastry chef Claire Smyth who saw an opportunity to take her buttery goodies to the masses with The Butter Project pastry delivery service.
Butter at its core is a simple commodity, but eating buttery treats, and having them delivered, is indulgent. I worked with Claire to develop a visual language for her service that spoke to both the comfort and the excitement of BUTTER.
By using nostalgic type and retro illustrations, this brand references packaging and ads of days gone by. But by adding a bright color palate, melty illustrations of bold messaging and textures made of pinup art, the sultry nature of BUTTER really melts your heart.
